Gunmen kill hotelier in Osun

A hotelier in Ilesha, Osun State, Falola Oke, has been shot dead by yet-to-be identified gunmen near his house.

The deceased, said to be the proprietor of Falola Hotel and Rental Services, was gunned down around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

A source in the Fadahunsi/Imo area of Ilesha, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent on Thursday that Oke was shot at close range near his residence by the gunmen.

The source said the perpetrators immediately fled the scene and threw the neighbourhood into panic.

A close associate of the deceased, Isaac Hastrup, in a Facebook post described Oke as “a dogged fighter and a good ambassador of C&S church Idasa Youth Forum.”

The Public Relations Officer, Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the death of the hotelier.

She, however, asked for more time to respond to enquiries on the incident.
