After being offered their vacant managerial position, Frank Lampard has advised Everton to pursue Donny Van De Beek.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is poised to be selected as Rafa Benitz’s replacement, and he has already picked his first transfer target.
Lampard wants Everton to make a move for Van de Beek, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Merseyside club is lacking in creativity in midfield and attempted to recruit the former Ajax player in the summer as well, but the deal fell through. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to retain the offensive midfielder and promised him more first-team chances.
However, both Solskjaer and Van van Beek’s plans did not come to fruition. The Norwegian was fired early in the season, while the 24-year-old is still on the bench at Old Trafford.
Everton have stepped up to alter things for the Dutchman, aiming to get his services on loan for the duration of the season, just days before the conclusion of the winter window.
However, Everton will have competition from Crystal Palace, with Van de Beek making the ultimate choice.
United would want any interested club to pay the player’s salaries. They do, however, recognize Van de Beek’s potential and will not include a purchase option. The Premier League giants would want to wait until a new permanent manager is appointed before making a decision on his future.
