My Opinion on The NDDC boss that collapsed what you suggest the presidency should do

Nigerians were met with total surprise and shock when Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) IMC managing director, Prof Pondei fainted.

His political boss, the minister of NDDC also called out some members of the National Assembly as beneficiaries of the unexecuted contracts worth billions of Naira while the host communities under the Niger Delta region are facing dilapidated structures.

There are also rumours that NDDC IMC’S MD Pondei is getting N51.8million as a monthly allowance, while other members get N18million even while the Commission has so many uncompleted projects and students on foreign scholarships without paying their fees.

Recently, Vanguard published a report that the new head of IMC- Prof. Pondei and other members of IMC are now collecting 20% – 30% of contract sums before Contractors are paid.

There’s an unconfirmed list of legislators who received contracts from the NDDC under Godswill Akpabio without executing most of it.

The list includes; Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi representing Delta North Senatorial district who received about 53 projects contracts, Sen. James Manager representing Delta South Senatorial district who received about 6 projects contracts, another person is Sen. Mathew Urhoghide representing Edo South Senatorial district who also received about 6 projects contracts, also on the list is Sen. Samuel Anyanwui representing Imo East Senatorial district who received about 19 projects contracts.

Others are Nicholas Mutu representing Bomadi/Patani Federal constituency Delta state who received about 74 projects contracts, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo representing Akoko North East/West Federal constituency Ondo state who received about 19 projects contracts and undisclosed House Of Representatives members from Edo and Ondo respectively.

I have a feeling that Pondei’s fainting and Akpabio’s fainting are calculated and orchestrated attempt to frustrate a holistic Feronsic Auditing initiated by the President to uncover all the criminality hate have taken place in NDDC for years with the full involvement of some scrupulous members of the house of Assemblies. Pondei is, very likely, forgiven for ‘fainting’.

More Nigerians ‘suspected’ of siphoning billions go scot-free. War on corruption is a charade.

With this level of fraud exposed in NDDC. I recommend that the presidency should sack all the members of the NDDC executives involved in the conspiracy looting and allow the Economic Financial Crime Commission(EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) take over their cases from the National Assembly.

We must not allow revenue looters and their connives to take over our public offices.

If the presidency decides to keep them, he will only be seen as supporting corruption and or aiding it.

We cannot allow politicians facing probe to deceive us with false illness moves or actions.

First, it was Dino Melaye, then Olisa Metuh and now Prof Pondei.

We cannot just allow the NDDC probe to die like that. They responded with throwing red herrings, set up smokescreens, obfuscate everything & then go scot-free while we make jokes out of Pondei’s fainting in the House.

We await presidential intervention about the probes.
