Only APC members and people close to my government have been attacked in Imo – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has again accused politicians of being behind the insecurity witnessed in Imo state.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Uzodinma said only members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and people close to his government have been victims of attack in the state.

    He said;

“Today, in my conversation with stakeholders in Imo state, I made it very clear that events of the past have shown clearly that those behind the insecurity in Imo state are politicians and that this insecurity is politically contrived.

“For instance, in that presentation which I did, I came out with a clear position that all the people that have been attacked in Imo state, all the houses that have been burnt down, are members of APC and those very close to my government.

“If you look at it, there is no member of any other political party that has been attacked in Imo state; no member of any other opposition party that his house has been burnt down, and this has continued to happen.

“You just mentioned that of the former governor Ikedi Ohakin. Three days after he summoned a special dinner of Imo stakeholders, encouraged them to support the government of APC, two days after, he was attacked and his security details killed.

“So, I have presented this matter to Imo people and of late, some arrests have been made — some of the kingpins. So, I’ve challenged the security agents in Imo state to make public, as soon as possible, the report of that investigation, and those behind these killings in Imo state be named.

“And they are going to do just that. I’m not going to pretend about that. I’m not going to play politics with the security of Imo state.”

#EPL: He looks disinterested, Potter may never play him again – Chris Sutton slams Chelsea star

Chelsea legend, Chris Sutton, has hit out at striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, saying the former Arsenal captain looks disinterested.

Sutton also insisted that Chelsea manager Graham Potter may never play Aubameyang for the Blues again.

He said this after Chelsea suffered a 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang made a bright start to his Chelsea career but has now gone ten games without a goal and looks like a shadow of the striker who tore up the Premier League at his peak with Arsenal.

“Aubameyang looked like he did not want to be here this evening. He’s not the only one. Cucurella, they have spent an absolute fortune on him and he looks well, well short for a Chelsea team that wants to win trophies,” Sutton told the BBC.

“I wonder whether Graham Potter is thinking, how can I play Aubameyang again in a Chelsea jersey after how woeful he was.

“I’m always wary of criticising players for lack of effort or poor body language, but Aubameyang absolutely epitomised that – I thought he was woeful and hopeless and didn’t give anywhere near enough.

“He looked disinterested and I suspect Graham Potter will be thinking, blimey, he’s never going to play in a Chelsea jersey again under me.”

EPL: Can you do more – Carragher rips into Chelsea star after loss to Man City

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has ripped into Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after the Blues’ Premier League 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Thursday night.

Manchester City defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s goal.

Arrizabalaga was timid in his efforts to prevent Jack Grealish’s cross, which trickled past him into Mahrez’s path during the encounter, and Carragher was not pleased with the Spanish international.

Speaking after the match, Carragher told Sky Sports when he questioned Kepa’s goalkeeping for the goal, “Can the goalkeeper do more? I think he can.

“I am pretty certain he could have done more. Man City have deserved that off the second-half performance.”

Witness Ced Mogul told 7News that he had travelled to watch the American-Moroccan rapper record the video, and while the shoot was happening someone in the crowd was “robbed of a watch and a wallet”, with the situation escalating from there.

“It was like at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots,” Mogul said.

“It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle. I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realised people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot.”

Sources said one of the victims is believed to be in critical condition, whilst the conditions of other victims remain unknown.

Miami Gardens Police Police say the incident was an isolated one, but further details regarding a possible shooter are yet to be disclosed.

The sentencing of Wanjala’s co-accused, Dominic Nyongesa, was deferred pending his age assessment.

A court in Kenya has sentenced a 24-year-old Kenyan man identified as Chris Wanjala to 90 years in prison.

EPL: Jamie O’Hara names three major problems with Chelsea team under Potter

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Jamie O’Hara has named three major problems with the current Chelsea team under their manager, Graham Potter this season.

O’Hara believes problems with the current Chelsea squad is that they ‘look soft, weak and are unable to hurt teams.’

He said this while criticizing Chelsea’s performance against Manchester City on Thursday night, with Potter’s side left languishing in 10th place on the Premier League table after the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea lost at home against Pep Guardiola’s side following winger Riyad Mahrez’s second-half goal.

“I think that they [Chelsea] look soft, they look weak, and I think that they don’t hurt you,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.

“They are pragmatic, and this is not the Chelsea of old that I used to watch when they’d turn up and be horrible and hard to beat, don’t concede and have monsters in the team scoring goals.

“I look at this Chelsea team and think that I fancy playing against them.

“It’s one of the most successful football teams in the last 20 years, and they are sat 10th in the table,” he added.

  • Cameroon football’s age fraud grows as ‘eleven more Under-17 players fail tests’

Cameroon football’s age fraud grows as ‘eleven more Under-17 players fail tests’

Cameroon Football has uncovered another age fraud as 11 further Under-17 players have failed age tests, bringing the total number up to 32.

The African nation’s Under-17 team are preparing for the UNIFACC tournament – contested by the Under-17 sides of Central African Football Federations’ Union countries.

Samuel Eto’o – who is president of the country’s governing body, Fecafoot called for all players selected for their youth side to undergo MRI tests to determine players’ age in an attempt to deal with the rising problem of age fraud in the country.

21 members of their Under-17 squad were disqualified earlier this week after failing the tests in a setback to Eto’o’s attempts to eradicate the problem in the Central African country.

After the original 21 members of the squad were removed, 11 new players that were called up as replacements have also failed tests, according to BBC Sport Africa.

The tests are used to determine a player’s age by scanning their wrists and measuring bone growth.

In a statement, Fecafoot said Eto’o had given ‘strict instructions’ for the tests to take place ‘in order to put an end to the tampering with civil status records which have, in the past, tarnished the image of Cameroon football.’

They added: ‘Fecafoot urges all actors, in particular educators, to ensure that the ages by category are respected.’
