UFC President Dana Whyte has confirmed the fight that Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya will fight to defend the UFC middleweight title belt.
Whyte, who has been fighting for two months despite the global coronavirus pandemic, says Israel Adesanya will defend his UFC middleweight title belt against Paulo Costa.
Adesanya defeated Yoel Romero back in March after Paulo Costa was eliminated due to injury, and now he is fit again, Dana Whyte says the contract for the fight has been agreed.
In a pre-UFC media interview on ESPN 11, White promised a “fantastic” fight plan for August and admitted that the 185lbs division would get a big title fight.

“August is madness, and then you know how it usually looks when we finish the year into autumn. Even in autumn there are always deadly fights.
“Well, I mean, with all the madness going on in this world right now. This thing is good right now. Everything is so good in the UFC world right now.”
When asked about the Adesanya-Costa fight, White replied, “Oh, yeah! This fight is going on right now.”
