The Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi was yesterday rumoured to have visited the Presidential wing of the Aso Villa in a bid to see the president lure him into backing Giadom chairmanship struggle as APC acting national chairman.
Recall that some factions of the APC dragged Oshiomole to the court to step down as APC chairman.
The court of appeal ruled in their favour and granted the suspension of the APC national chairman Adams Oshiomole.
It was rumoured that Kayode Fayemi who doubles as the Chairman Governors Forum is not just pushing for the removal of Oshiomole, but also bent on using the president to approve Giadom Chairmanship thereby making it easier for his 2023 Vice President ambition.
Fayemi, on Tuesday, took Victor Giadom to Aso Rock Villa in a failed attempt to see President Muhammadu Buhari convince the president to allow Giadom lay claim to the position of the acting national chairman of the party.
An insider from the statehouse reported that President Muhammadu Buhari aide and Personal assistant Sabiu almost passed Fayemi through to see the president after told him Tinubu sent him.
Sabiu then contacted Tinubu who notified in the negative prompting Sabiu to refer Fayemi to the chief of staff Gambari who insisted that the president was asleep and that it was late.
The bone of contention from all this rumoured action is that Fayemi wants to be Vice President while southwest wants the presidency come 2023.
Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti state, has accused Babafemi Ojudu, special adviser to Buhari on political matters, of blackmail concerning his rumoured visit to the statehouse Aso Rock.
Fayemi May have beaten Tinubu faction to it this time.
