A man identified as Hussaini has been abducted by bandits who raided the private residence of the late emir of Jere in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, late Dr Sa’ad Usman.
A resident of Jere, Mu’azu Adamu told Daily Trust that the raid was carried out around 11:23 pm on Sunday, January 1.
Adamu said Hussaini’s wife escaped with her child as they were being led by the bandits to raid another house in the area.
The bandits who came in their numbers armed, proceeded to Anguwar Salanke and abducted another resident identified as Baba Na’ibi, while injuring other people identified as Ahmad and Musa.
He said;
“Actually, one of the victims was hit by a stray bullet when the bandits shot into the window of the house of Baba Na’ibi, while the second was injured by the shattered window pane of the house.”
The two injured victims were taken to the hospital. Jere emirate council’s secretary, Malam Aliyu Zubair who confirmed the attack, said six people were abducted in the area based on the information at his disposal.
Zubair said the bandits invaded the late emir’s private around 10:12pm on Sunday, and abducted one person, before proceeding to a neighbour’s house, where they whisked away five people.
He said;
“And before the police arrived, the bandits had escaped. It was our vigilantes who tried to engage them, but they were overpowered because the guns the bandits were carrying were more sophisticated than those of the vigilantes.”
