Former Liverpool man, Graeme Souness has warned that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is playing a dangerous game at the club by pushing for more signings.
Also Jamie Redknapp warned that Conte’s current players may not want to keep hearing him complaining they are not good enough.
Both former Premier League stars gave the warning after Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 4-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Conte has not stopped asking the club to make more investment this month as he tries to transform the side into title challengers.
Souness, who also played for Tottenham, is a fan of Conte, but has to warn the Italian of the impending danger if he keeps complaining.
“I like him. I think he pushes players almost to falling out with him, he works them very hard,” Souness told Sky Sports.
“And you’re looking to put the chairman under pressure because he wants more players. it’s a dangerous tactic he’s employing…”
Redknapp, who also played for Spurs and Liverpool, added, “Every press conference has a sort of message in it
“It’s not always the best when you’re a player and you’re in that kind of environment.
