Manchester City forward, Julian Alvarez has revealed that Kepa Arrizabalaga tried playing mind games with him before he took the spot kick to score the second goal against Chelsea in their FA Cup on Sunday.
Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 4-0 on Sunday to secure their place in the next round of the English FA Cup.
The Argentinian insisted that he was not put off by Kepa’s attempt at mind games before his penalty.
Riyad Mahrez scored twice, while Alvarez and Phil Foden completed a bad night for the Blues.
As Alvarez was preparing to take the spot kick, after Havertz handled the ball in Chelsea area, Kepa stood a yard away from the ball and began to speak with the Argentine.
Kepa dived the right way for the ball but Alvarez still managed to score with his effort.
When asked about Kepa’s words before his penalty, the striker told ESPN, “The goalkeepers always try to do their thing, it doesn’t bother me at all.
“I try to be focused on my job. I had already decided which way I was going to shoot and well, it was a goal.”
