Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has named one player he ‘sees a future’ in after their 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Charlton on Tuesday.
Manchester United moved to the EFL Cup semi-finals at the expense of Charlton with goals from Antony and Marcus Rashford (2).
According to Ten Hag, Facundo Pellistri, who played for Uruguay at the Qatar World Cup, has a future at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan came on from the bench late in the Carabao Cup clash and provided the assist for Rashford’s first goal.
Pellistri joined the Red Devils from Uruguayan club Penarol in 2020 and has been on loan at Spanish side Alaves.
The 21-year-old was making his Red Devils debut against the Addicks on Tuesday.
He has been linked with another loan move this month but with Ten Hag’s comment last night, he could keep the highly-rated youngster.
“I see a future in [Pellistri],” Ten Hag told reporters, adding, “He is doing really well, we will have to see what is best for him but he is progressing.
“Also against Everton [in last month’s friendly], I was really happy with his performance. I was happy with his performance in the World Cup.
“I have to say well done to him and keep going.”
