Arsenal’s reaction to the hijack of their deal for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhailo Mudryk by Chelsea has been revealed.
According to the Independent, the Gunners were left ‘aggravated’ after the Blues came from nowhere and hijacked the deal for their top January target.
The Blues hijacked their deal for Mudryk with an eye-watering £97m offer to Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Gunners were on the verge of signing the player for £80m and this was becoming certain to the extent that Mikel Arteta was said to be confident Mudryk would complete his move in time for next weekend’s clash against Manchester United.
But Chelsea swooped in and agreed on a stunning deal to sign the Ukraine international from Shakhtar.
The Blues said on Saturday that they were ‘close’ to completing a transfer worth an initial £62m, with the add-ons totalling £35m.
The player has also flown to London where he is expected to have a medical on Sunday after signing a 7-year deal.
Arsenal is now ‘aggravated’ by their London rivals and the feeling is shared by a number of Premier League clubs, according to The Independent.
They claim the Blues New owners are ‘getting involved in everything’.
