Popular Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the next step for Lionel Messi.

Messi has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal but Romano confirmed that the forward was not approached by the Saudi outfit.

The Argentine made a shocking move from Barcelona to PSG back in the summer of 2021.

The 35-year-old signed a two-year contract with the French capital side and has now entered the final six months of his deal.

According to Romano, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is likely to remain at the club following a fresh meeting with club officials.

The renowned transfer expert tweeted, “Understand Leo Messi has not received any proposal from Al Hilal, despite links in the last days and weeks. No talks, no discussions.

“Been told the next step for Messi’s future is a new meeting with Paris Saint-Germain to extend the contract. Messi, set to stay at PSG.”
