Rio Ferdinand has hailed Everton forward Neal Maupay’s contribution to the Toffees beating Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday.
The Everton striker enjoyed another day to remember against Arsenal.
It was Sean Dyche’s first game since taking over from sacked Frank Lampard, and he delivered a 1-0 win over the Premier League leaders.
James Tarkowski’s 60th-minute header was all the home side needed to take all three points.
Maupay was introduced as a replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and he played a key role in the closing stages.
The former Brighton striker was a constant thorn in Arsenal’s side with his physical presence.
Maupay got under the skin of Oleksandr Zinchenko in particular, and the pair were involved in an ugly scuffle.
Ferdinand congratulated the striker for derailing Arsenal’s title charge.
“Maupay has had Arsenal a couple of times. He has though; I’m not joking.
“He’s ruffled your feathers a few times. He has had you up!. Today Zinchenko, all flustered. Last time against Arsenal against Brighton he had it out with Guendouzi” Ferdinand said.
