The striker Chelsea manager Graham Potter wants to sign for the club in the summer has been revealed.
According to British journalist, Simon Phillips, Potter wants to sign Brentford’s Ivan Toney, adding that the Blues boss likes the England international.
Phillips said this in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
He tweeted, “Chelsea are very likely to add a traditional striker in summer. It’s true Graham Potter does like Ivan Toney, but I am sure they will watch closely how he’s punished for alleged gambling charges before discussing further. It’s one to watch.”
Recall that Chelsea spent £320 million in the just-concluded January transfer window in addition to the players recruited in the summer, bringing co-owner Todd Boehly’s spending to a whopping £566 million since he took over the Stamford Bridge club last summer.
But Chelsea are yet to sign a top striker for Potter and could bring Toney to the west London club at the end of the season.
