Manchester City defender, Nathan Ake, believes Arsenal are still the favourite for the Premier League title despite his team’s Premier League 3-1 win at the Emirates on Wednesday night.
Man City picked up a statement victory over Arsenal to go top of the Premier League table, although the Gunners still have a game in hand.
However, Ake acknowledged that Pep Guardiola’s side won’t get carried away with their present position and will take it one step at a time.
Speaking to the press after the game, Ake, when asked if Man City are favourites to win the title, said (via The Independent): “No. They [Arsenal] still have a game in hand, so they still have three points on us, so we don’t want to get carried away.
“We’ll keep doing what we’re doing, go game by game and take it from there.”
He added: “We knew beforehand it was going to be a very big game and we just wanted to win the game and get the three points and we did.”
