Chelsea board considerS manager Thomas Tuchel’s return to Stamford Bridge impossible as they continue to stand by Graham Potter.
Potter is under huge pressure at the west London club following his side’s 1-0 Premier League shock to Southampton last weekend.
Potter’s side currently sits 10th in the Premier League table with 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
There were calls from fans and some football pundits for Chelsea to sack Potter after the Southampton defeat.
Chelsea supporters have already sung Tuchel’s name during games this season, with a section of fans believing that the decision to sack the former Paris Saint-Germain head coach last September was the wrong move.
However, Chelsea’s hierarchy is understood to be standing behind Potter and believes he is the right coach to improve the situation at Stamford Bridge, according to the Evening Standard.
The report added that the idea of Tuchel returning to Chelsea is ‘impossible’ as the Blues’ chiefs ‘grew frustrated’ with how the German worked during his time at the club.
