Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has identified midfielder Casemiro as the player who helped the Red Devils defeat Newcastle United in Sunday’s Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) final.
Neville also heaped praise on manager Erik ten Hag for the work he has done in transforming Manchester United since his arrival last year.
A goal from Casemiro and an own-goal from Sven Botman gave Man United the victory over Newcastle at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Neville said: “Huge day for Manchester United.
“Casemiro is at the heart of it, but really, it is about one man having transformed this team from whiners into winners in such a short period of time, Erik ten Hag – what a job that he has done.”
