A man has died after he was stabbed with a broken bottle by three suspects in Anambra State.
The deceased, simply identified as Chikodili, is a scrap dealer at Tarzan junction axis, along Onitsha/Enugu expressway, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Chikodili was from Ebonyi State while his assailants, who also deal in scraps, are from Enugu State.
According to an eyewitness, the deceased and the assailants earlier had an argument at their place of work over the sharing of N1600 given to them.
A master trader had to intervene to resolve the crisis.
Some hours later, the suspects invited the deceased to have a drink.
The deceased was said to have ignored the invitation knowing that they were not pleased because the resolution was not in their favour.
The suspects eventually caught the deceased on his bike on the same day. They held him tight while on his bike as one stabbed him on his neck and head with a broken bottle.
He immediately slumped and the assailants fled.
The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at Iyi-Enu hospital morgue, Ogidi, by the police who reportedly have concluded arrangements for autopsy.
The police have embarked on a man hunt for the suspects. None has been apprehended.
The mother of the deceased, who was distraught due to the death of her son, demanded justice. She said that the assailants wasted her son’s life for nothing.
