Tottenham boss, Antonio Conte has said that the club lacks winning mentality and do not have the right foundation to compete among elite clubs in Europe.
He said this after Spurs were sent out of the Champions League by AC Milan on Wednesday evening but maintained that he still has his contract running at the club.
Tottenham failed to overturn a first-leg 1-0 deficit against the Italian club and could not even create clear-cut chances.
The home supporters booed their side after the final whistle. They remain in the dark over Conte’s future.
Conte, whose current deal expires at the end of the season. is reportedly eyeing a return to Italy.
“I have a contract with Tottenham, Tottenham know very well what my thoughts are. At the end of the season, we will meet and we will make a decision,” he told BT Sport after his side were eliminated from the competition.
“We need time because at this moment we don’t have a solid foundation to be competitive, to fight, to win, in my opinion.
“We will see, we have to finish the season. I have a contract until June, I am happy to work in Tottenham, but in the end, we have to make a decision.”
