Argentina World Cup hero, Lionel Messi has given his club, Paris Saint-Germain one condition that must be met before he could sign his new contract.
The 35-year-old and the club have already reportedly reached a verbal agreement about potentially extending his contract at the club but nothing is official yet.
PSG have the option of either activating his one-year extension or to hand him a new contract with the option to extend it for another year.
However, Sportskeeda reports that Messi’s representatives have made it clear to the Perisians that the World Cup winner will no longer be paid much less than Kylian Mbappe.
But the club are not willing to give in to the player’s demands, meaning that a move away from France is possible.
Messi moved from Barcelona to PSG in January of 2021 after the Catalan giants were unable to renew his contract due to La Liga’s wage cap rules.
Messi has since made 64 appearances for PSG, scoring 29 goals and providing 32 assists.
