Arsenal legend and former Manchester United star Robin van Persie has hailed Tyrell Malacia, saying he is proud of the young right-back.
Van Persie said that Malacia is giving hope to other young Dutch players.
Malacia joined Manchester United from Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth £13million.
The left-back is having a commendable first season at his new club.
“Tyrell Malacia is one of them[right players signed by the club last summer],” the former Netherlands international told reporters during the international break.
“He wasn’t really well known before he came. I played with him at Feyenoord, so I knew how good he was, and still is, and he is proving that every game.
“He’s doing that so well and I’m so proud of him. He’s from my city. He’s from my club. He’s giving a lot of youngsters hope. I’m just proud of him.”
Malacia is currently playing second fiddle to England international Luke Shaw who is a more established right-back at the club. However, the Dutch defender performs exceptionally well whenever he is called upon.
