Mason Greenwood’s team has told Manchester United that they should allow the player to move forward and revive his career.
The player was freed last month after the charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped.
Greenwood, 21, was widely regarded as one of the emerging stars of football having made more than 100 appearances for Manchester United already.
However, the England youngster was arrested in January 2022 after he was accused of rape and related issues, including violence against women and images and videos that were shared on social media.
The winger was later charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Early last month, charges against him at the Crown Prosecution Service were dropped after key witnesses withdrew their involvement and ‘new material came to light’.
But his club side Manchester United said they would carry out some further investigation ‘before determining next steps.’
And now the player’s team believes his time is being wasted and that he should be allowed to get on with his life and the opportunity to ‘rebuild and move forward with his young life’.
A representative of the player told The Athletic: “Mason is 21, he has been cleared and should be allowed the opportunity to rebuild and move forward with his young life.”
