Former France international, Patrice Evra, has picked Kylian Mbappe as the right player to captain France ahead of Antoine Griezmann.
Evra said this while backing manager Didier Deschamps’ decision to hand Mbappe the captain’s armband for France ahead of Griezmann.
The Manchester United legend claimed that Mbappe is very intelligent, while Griezmann is not a leader despite having 118 caps for Les Bleus.
“He [Mbappe] is chosen, that is how it is and it will not change. Afterwards, Antoine, you say to yourself that it’s the oldest. But be careful: I think that Kylian Mbappé is very intelligent,” Evra was quoted by RMC SPORT as saying.
“When Antoine is going to speak… Personally, when I was there, he did not speak. But he is not someone who will make a speech before the game, he is not a unifier, he is not a leader. Afterwards, with his experience, you could give him the armband.”
