Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has said that his players see Lionel Messi as the greatest player in the history of football and would give up their lives for the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
The 35-year-old Messi made an immense contribution as Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar in December, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
Scaloni said that the former Barcelona ace is held in high regard by his national team-mates and would do anything for him.
“That they see Leo (Messi) as the best player in history, the way they see him. … They would give up their lives for him. That’s a different kind of chemistry. In football, that counts a lot,” he told journalist Roy Nemer.
Messi shares a strong relationship with his international teammates and this was on display throughout the World Cup campaign in the Middle East.
