Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has said that he is hopeful defender William Saliba will still play a part in their Premier League chase this season.

Arteta, however, said that the France international defender will not be part of their Saturday’s Premier League game against Leeds United.

Saliba is a mainstay in the Arsenal’s title chasing squad and is one of the most outstanding stars of the team that want to claim the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.

He was injured during Arsenal’s shock Europa League exit at the hands of Sporting Lisbon and was forced to pull out of France’s squad ahead of the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Holland and Ireland.

When asked if the 22-year-old would play again this season, Arteta added, “Yeah I am very hopeful and he is as well.

“Let’s push it and see how he copes with that. He’s so willing to be back in the team.”
