British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has aimed a sly dig at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag while making a Cristiano Ronaldo point after the Red Devils’ Premier League 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Morgan has constantly been taking shots at Ten Hag since Ronaldo’s departure from Man United last year.
Recall that Ten Hag decided to bench Ronaldo at Manchester United before the Portugal captain left Old Trafford for Al-Nassr on a free transfer after his contract was terminated on mutual consent.
However, after Man United suffered a blow to their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four this season after losing to Newcastle, Morgan took a shot at Ten Hag.
Taking to Twitter after the match, Morgan recalled old quotes from Ten Hag and claimed that the former Ajax coach might regret switching Ronaldo for Weghorst.
He tweeted: “Methinks Ten’ I prefer Weghorst up front to Ronaldo’ Hag might need a few ambien tonight…”
