Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright, has expressed worries about Frank Lampard’s return to Chelsea.
Lampard’s first game in charge of the Blues ended in defeat as the west London side fell 1-0 to Premier League relegation-battlers Wolves.
The Englishman joined his former club on an interim basis as Chelsea’s hierarchy will wait until the summer to appoint a permanent boss.
Wright doubts Lampard’s appointment will end in a success story, adding that he is confused by the appointment.
“It’s really difficult for me because we’re close,” he told his podcast.
“I’m afraid, I just want him to do well. I’m afraid because it’s not gone too well for him up to this point. I’m just worried for a friend.
“Does this move help him? I’m very confused and worried about the whole thing.
“I don’t know, and I’m not sure how this benefits him.”
