Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has picked his first choice goalkeeper at the moment between Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of the Premier League game against Brighton on Saturday.
Kepa has been heavily criticised over his performances in recent games where he has been caught making some very ‘poor errors’ and this was obvious in the Blues’ 2-0 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Spain international and the interim manager had a frosty relationship during Lampard’s first spell in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Englishman had previously favoured Senegal international Mendy and even Willy Caballero over Arrizabalaga.
However, Lampard said he has not found any reason to remove the Spaniard as the Blues’ first choice goalkeeper at the moment.
“I don’t see any reason to do anything different at the moment,” Lampard told his pre match press conference while discussing Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation.
