Chelsea caretaker boss, Frank Lampard, has identified one major area his team must improve ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie with Real Madrid on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
DAILY POST recalls that Chelsea lost the first leg 2-0 at Santiago Bernabeu last week.
Speaking after Chelsea’s Premier League 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday, Lampard revealed that his team must improve on football basics ahead of the Real Madrid clash in England.
Two goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso gave Brighton the victory over Chelsea as Conor Gallagher did score for Lampard’s side.
Speaking to BBC after the game, Lampard said: “Where can we get better quickly? For me, it’s the football basics.”
He added: “In football, a story can change very quickly. Real Madrid in the Champions League is the pinnacle of football.
“There are things I will say to the players that I will keep in-house. Chelsea fans will be coming on Tuesday to see a team give everything to turn it around, and that is what we have to do.”
