An official of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement, TRACE, Corps, Popola Olasupo has been abducted by yet-to-be-identified persons.

Olasupo was reportedly kidnapped at about 6.30 am on Sunday, April 16, around the Eledumare-Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The official was on his way to his duty post alongside one other member of the traffic corps when the gunmen emerged from the bush and opened fire on a commercial bus the official was travelling in.

He was the only one abducted.

Policemen and some vigilantes are currently on the trail of the suspected kidnappers.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident. He said the command’s anti-kidnapping squad was already after the kidnappers.
