Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has said that Chelsea are in a bad shape and so there was nothing wrong in the club’s owners talking to the players.
Ancelotti said that Todd Boehly has the right to even criticise the players in the dressing room after games, especially when they have not performed well.
After their Premier League defeat to Brighton on Saturday, Boehly entered the club’s dressing room and labelled Chelsea’s current situation ’embarrassing’ as he addressed the players.
Reports in England say that the American also singled out one senior Chelsea player for criticism following their 12th defeat of the season which has seen them languishing in eleventh place in the Premier League table.
Interim manager, Frank Lampard has not won or drawn a single match for Chelsea since his return to Stamford Bridge, losing all three matches he has been in charge of, ahead of the second leg of their Champions League quarter final clash with Real Madrid at Stamford Bron Tuesday.
Addressing his pre-match press conference ahead of the Stamford Bridge showdown, Ancelotti feels Boehly should be allowed to give his verdict directly to the Chelsea squad.
“From the owners it could be an important motivation for the players,” Ancelotti said.
“The Chelsea moment is not a good moment, I think to have the support of the club could inspire the players to play better.
“I think it is a good move to do this and if the clubs want to come and talk to the players, I have no problem, absolutely.”
The Italian added that he won’t be disturbed if Madrid’s President, Fiorentino Perez decides to talk to Los Blancos every game.
