Former Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has impressed Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly following talks over the head coach job at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are still searching for the next permanent manager that will coach the first team next season.
The Blues temporarily put caretaker manager Frank Lampard to manage the team until the end of the season after sacking Graham Potter.
The west London club has been linked with Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.
However, according to the Independent, although Chelsea’s hierarchy insists that there is ‘no favourite as of yet’, Pochettino is thought to have impressed them, including Boehly, with his ‘clarity of his vision’ for the club.
Chelsea have held several rounds of talks with both Pochettino and Nagelsmann, and the Premier League giants felt the latter was ‘too similar to Thomas Tuchel,’ who was sacked last September.
