Former Rangers and Scotland star Ally McCoist has warned Manchester United would get battered in the Champions League next season with their current squad.
Manchester United were beaten 5-2 on aggregate and sent packing from the Europa League last Thursday by Sevilla.
The manner the Spanish side brushed aside Erik ten Hag’s side was a surprise to many as the 3-0 away scoreline was not accurately showing Sevilla’s dominance.
“Manchester United are miles away from being anywhere near where they want to be under Ten Hag, that’s for sure,” he told talkSPORT.
“That team performing like that would get battered in the Champions League.
“And it was’t a one-off. Defensively they are all over the place.
“They’ve been losing far too many goals.”
