Former England international, Kieron Dyer, has hit out at Tottenham Hotspur players after they went 5-0 down after just 21 minutes against Newcastle United in Sunday’s Premier League tie.
Dyer said that former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was right to lash out at Spurs players in the press during his time at the club, adding that the players are bad.
Jacob Murphy, Joelinton and Alexander Isak all scored for Newcastle in the first half against Tottenham at St James’ Park.
Callum Wilson made it 6-1 for the host in the second half as Harry Kane scored the visitors’ only goal of the encounter.
“There was a lot made about Conte when he came out with his outburst about the Spurs players, but this is why he gave the outburst,” Dyer said on Sky Sports at half-time.
“Everything that he said in that press conference has come true. The Spurs players cost the manager his job, they are that bad.
“It could be 7-0 or 8-0, they have [Newcastle] been that at it,” he added.
