Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Cristian Stellini as their interim manager, a day after they were hammered 6-1 at Newcastle United.
Stellini will be replaced by coach Ryan Mason, the club confirmed on Monday.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement: “Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff.
“Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.”
Spurs are currently in fifth place on the Premier League table with 53 points after 32 games, six behind fourth-place Manchester United, who also have two games in hand.
Stellini took over following the exit last month of Antonio Conte.
