In the biggest fixture of the day, Akwa United defeated Wikki Tourists 1-0 at the UNEC Stadium, Enugu.
Liman Ahmadu stabbed home the decisive goal three minutes before the half-hour mark after Abbey Benson’s initial effort was cleared off the line.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Kwara United defeated Gateway United 4-2 on penalties.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Olajide Mustapha gave Gateway United the lead with a stunning strike two minutes after the break. But experienced Samad Kadiri equalised for Kwara United courtesy of a fine free kick on 67 minutes.
Kwara United gained the upper hand in the shootout scoring four of their spot kicks, while Gateway United netted twice.
Plateau United also sealed their passage into the next round following a comprehensive 3-0 win against non-league club, Jama United.
