Former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker has heaped praises on Manchester City’s Erling Haaland after the Norway international equaled the record for the most Premier League goals (34) in a single season after 32 games on Sunday.
Haaland achieved the feat after scoring a goal in Man City’s Premier League 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.
Haaland’s goal against Fulham moved him level with Andrew Cole (1993/1994) and Alan Shearer (1994/1995). Both Cole and Shearer had 42 games to score 34 goals.
His goal against Fulham was also his 50th across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.
Haaland still has six more games to add to his tally before the season comes to a close.
Reacting, Lineker, who scored 67 league goals during his time with Tottenham Hotspur, hailed Haaland, tweeting: “A 50th goal of the season for the remarkable (Erling Haaland).”
Haaland joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund last year.
