Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has singled out defender Victor Lindelof, describing him as a brilliant player, following their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
Midfielder, Bruno Fernandes’ scored the only goal of the game after 39 minutes to seal the victory that tightens their grip on a top four finish.
Lindelof partnered Luke Shaw in the heart of United’s defence during injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.
Luke Shaw and Lindelof helped Man United keep another clean sheet with the Swede in particular impressing, making a superb goal line clearance to deny Douglas Luiz with 10 minutes remaining.
“[Victor Lindelof] played brilliantly. He was totally in control in the area around [Ollie] Watkins,” ten Hag said.
Manchester United kept their spot in fourth place with the victory and are two points behind Newcastle United in third with a game in hand.
