Paris Saint-Germain has come under heavy criticism for suspending their superstar, Lionel Messi.

Cristobal Soria, a popular Spanish journalist has launched a scathing attack on the French Ligue1 giants after the club suspended the superstar for travelling to Saudi Arabia unauthorised.

Soria said the Ligue1 champions should be thankful that a player like Messi even agreed to wear their shirt.

The Argentina superstar and World Cup winner grabbed headlines after travelling to Saudi Arabia, the country to which he is an ambassador.

He made the trip hours after PSG’s defeat to Lorient despite being required to report for training the next day, Monday.

For this reason, the French side decided to suspend the player for two weeks and banned him from using the club’s training facilities.

El Chiringuito journalist Soria, said, “One-half of Lionel Messi has more history and importance than all of PSG put together.

“Punish him? But what did you believe? PSG should be forever grateful that Messi wore their shirt and defended their crest.”
