Chelsea, under the leadership of Todd Boehly, is reportedly keen to join Manchester United in the race to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez after a glowing endorsement from manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino is close to being named as Chelsea’s next permanent manager.
The Football Insider said Pochettino believes his compatriot, Martinez, is one of the best strikers in world football.
Martinez has scored 23 goals and registered nine assists in 48 games across competitions for Inter this season.
The 25-year-old is one of the best forwards around in Europe and was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last December.
Inter Milan is not opposed to entertaining offers for Martinez and could sell him for £70 million this summer to raise funds.
