Real Madrid, under the leadership of President Florentino Perez, is reportedly set to offload seven of their players in a bid to overhaul their squad ahead of next season.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have blacklisted seven players whose contracts will expire soon as Perez is determined to let go of those who have not performed at the expected level this season.
The biggest name on the list is former Chelsea ace Eden Hazard, who joined Real Madrid in 2019 for a club-record fee of €115 million.
However, Hazard has only scored seven goals and registered 12 assists in 75 games across competitions for Los Blancos.
The 32-year-old’s injury woes are another reason for Perez’s disappointment.
Among others who are set to leave Real Madrid are Andriy Lunin, whose contract ends in 2024; Jesus Vallejo, whose contract ends in 2025 and who has only played four matches this season; Spanish right-back Alvaro Odrizola, who has managed just five appearances this term.
Others are Ferland Mendy, whose contract ends in 2025 and who has registered one assist in 25 matches this season, midfielder Dani Ceballos, who will become a free agent in the summer and Mariano Daaz, who will also become a free agent in the summer.
