Manchester United attacker, Wout Weghorst has slammed those criticising his performance at the club, insisting that the Red Devils love what he is doing.
The Dutchman said that he only read about his undoing in the media, adding that the club had not told him of his doing anything wrong.
He also said that reports about his imminent exit were false.
The Netherlands international joined Manchester United on loan from Burnley in the January transfer window and has scored only twice and claimed three assists in 27 matches.
As per Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag’s side are unlikely to make an offer to keep Weghorst at the club beyond the 2022-23 season.
Speaking to The Times following the club’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday, Weghorst said, “In those [talks] the club said they are very satisfied with me. It has absolutely not been communicated with me that Man United don’t want to continue with me.
“They appreciate my value. They believe I am absolutely an asset for the team.”
