England have named three players of Nigerian descent in their final squad for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
The three players included in the squad by head coach Ian Forster are Chelsea midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka; Daniel Oyegoke, who plays for Brentford; and Southampton’s Sam Edozie.
Chukwuemeka, who linked up with Chelsea from Aston Villa last summer, is expected to play a key role for England in Argentina.
Right-back Oyegoke is yet to make an appearance for Brentford’s first team.
The 20-year-old was recalled from his loan stint with League One club Milton Keynes Dons in January.
Edozie, a winger, has made 17 league appearances for Southampton this season.
England will kick off their campaign against Tunisia in Buenos Aires on May 22.
Forster’s side will also face Uruguay and Iraq in the same group.
