Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has hailed Jack Grealish’s performance following Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
City sent the defending champions out thanks to a 5-1 aggregate win.
Ferdinand, speaking on BT Sport, was full of praise for Grealish although the England midfielder didn’t score or provide an assist.
He said: “We have to give credit to Grealish, he got a lot of stick in his first season but now he’s a mainstay in this team.
“He doesn’t get you loads of goals, but his skill for retaining the ball, creating space for others, and drawing fouls.
“It’s not just about what he does himself, it’s about what he triggers in those around him with the space he creates.”
