Newcastle United are one win away from confirming their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The Magpies took a big step towards qualification, thanks to a thumping 4-1 win over Brighton on Thursday night.
Eddie Howe’s men got off to a fine start after Deniz Undav’s own goal gave them the lead. Dan Burn extended their advantage with a header just before the break.
Although Undav pulled one back early in the second half, Newcastle added more goals through Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes.
The win takes them up to 69 points, three more than fourth-placed Manchester United.
Newcastle have four points more than Liverpool in fifth place.
They will secure a Champions League place with one win from their last two games.
