Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in Ilkay Gundogan to the club this summer.
The Manchester City captain is out of contract at the end of this season and is yet to agree fresh terms with the Premier League champions.
Arteta is looking in the market for a replacement for Granit Xhaka, who is expected to play his last game for the Gunners this weekend.
Xhaka has agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen as he closes in on a move back to Germany.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal hold a “concrete” interest in Gundogan with Arteta at the heart of their attempts to take him to the Emirates Stadium.
Last summer, Arsenal completed a combined £75 million swoop for Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from City.
