Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has predicted Chelsea will finish in the Premier League next season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

According to the former England international, the Blues will return to the top four of the top flight of English football despite a miserable 2022-23 campaign for the west Londoners.

Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by the Sky Blues, who were crowned champions at the Etihad on Sunday.

The Blues will finish the season in the bottom half of the table.

However, Pochettino has agreed to come in as head coach and with this development, Owen feels the former Tottenham boss will bring the west London side back into the Champions League spots.

“I think they will [finish in the top four next season],” Owen told Premier League Production.

“The most important thing at that club is to get rid of players. You can never, ever have a squad of that quality and have harmony.

“I think the main thing now is to get rid of half a dozen players, focus on a smaller pool, and I think they will do alright next season.”
