Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland has admitted he was “relieved” that they beat Arsenal to the Premier League title, after learning about a crazy statistic about the Gunners.
City lifted the trophy on Sunday, a day after the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest confirmed them as champions.
Haaland has been key for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign, scoring a record 36 goals in only 34 matches.
But Haaland was shocked to learn just how long Arsenal led the log.
“I saw a stat of Arsenal being 240 something days top of the table,” Haaland told Sky Sports.
“We were like 20. We were chasing the whole season and to get hold of it was such a relief. It was such an amazing feeling.
“In the last couple of weeks is where everything gets decided. That’s why it’s even better.”
