The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has reacted to claims made by a female police officer, Fauzziyah Ebunoluwa Isiak, that she was detained in the command on Wednesday, May 24 for demanding that her resignation letter be approved.
Isiak drew the attention of social media users earlier today when she came on the app to call out the police for detaining her. She said she had worked for the force for six years and that last year she tendered her resignation but it has not been approved to date. She mentioned that she was summoned by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state yesterday and was immediately detained.
Reacting via his Twitter handle, Hundeyin said Isiak was detained because she absconded from duty. He said she will also be made to face a disciplinary committee for coming on social media to present a false claim.
