Manchester United midfielder, Christian Eriksen, has joked that Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy with him taking a free kick for the club.
Eriksen claimed that he jumped ahead and took one instead of Ronaldo earlier this 2022/23 season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star joined Man United last summer on a free transfer after he ran down his contract at Brentford.
However, the Denmark international shared the dressing room with Ronaldo for just a few months as the former Real Madrid forward was released last November.
“Even now at the club, we have multiple takers who, if he [Ronaldo] is had a good day, he is going to have it. [Eriksen, Fernandes] and Rashy.
“They are probably the three and Ronaldo when he was here, obviously. I did take one [instead of Ronaldo], I think, but he was not too happy with that! But then, with the three we have now, it is where we are on the pitch, how people are feeling, so it is like ‘You had the last one, I will have the next one.’”
